Easter Skåne 2013
The Easter Art Open Studios Week is a tradition that began in 1968 in East Skåne. http://www.oskg.nu/english
Groups of artists in other parts of the region also have joint exhibitions and open their studios. We start
at the group exhibition, where each artist chooses one piece to show, and then decide which studios to see.
In 2013 Annette’s cousins, Kathy and Vernon were visiting and experienced both art and winter in Österlen.
The 2013 Open Studios Week of the East Skåne Artists Society took place over 10 days of Easter.
About 150 members participated. Easter was early this year, and it was cold and windy on March 30.
We started at Tjörnedala konsthall in Baskemölla, where participating artists each showed one piece of their work.
Part of the exhibition at Tjörnedala konsthall. There is a small entrance fee to the joint show, but
no charge to visit studios. There are also lottery tickets with prizes contributed by the members.
The objects on exhibition included clothes and textiles.

Lise-Lotte Nielsen’s home is always warm and welcoming.

A special space decorated for visitors.
The studios are well marked. Because there are so many visitors, cars must sometimes park a distance away.
Thomas Alexanderson moved his home and studio to the countryside. http://www.thomasdrejare.com/
We bought two of the bird houses on the back wall.
They are up on the gable side of our house, and we are waiting to see if the birds like them, too.
Thomas Alexanderson stamps his work with different names: Thomas Drejare and/or alex.
One of the most spectacular glass studios.
This year there were some smaller objects. In the past the studio was filled with huge lamps like this below.
